Lessons learned….

Expensive equipment does not necessarily mean better equipment. Shortly after I opened my ear shop, my Andis clippers (~$120) suddenly started pulling the hair and not cutting. Cue me cleaning the blades, oiling them, adjusting the tension of the blades… nothing. Since I needed to keep up on inventory, I figured I needed backup clippers anyway, so I got a pair by Holdog for $30 off Amazon. And… they cut so much better. They’ve gotten me the closest shave, and that has translated to a lot neater looking work. I’m probably going to stick with this cheaper pair, despite me waiting on a replacement blade ($40) for my other clippers… At least I learned you’re supposed to oil your clipper blades before, during, and after to prolong its lifespan (and not burn your client).
